James Seol will join the off-Broadway company of Around the World in 80 Days on September 17, replacing original cast member Jimmy Ray Bennett. Mark Brown's adaptation of the classic adventure novel by Jules Verne recently celebrated its 100th performance at the New Theater at 45th Street, directed by Rachel Klein.
Seol joins a cast led by Guy LeMonnier at Phileas Fogg, along with ensemble members Shirine Babb, Matt Lutz and Gary Littman. Around the World in 80 Days is a hilarious tour-de-force in which five actors play 39 roles, as Brown's vaudeville script is brought to life in a space created especially for the show.
Seol has appeared on Broadway in A Naked Girl on the Appian Way. His off-Broadway credits include Ten and The Long Season. Regional credits include Thoroughly Modern Millie, Stuck Elevator, Mame, Coriolanus, Timon of Athens and King Lear.
